My office at the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)
in Bracknell, about an hour's train ride from London.
I worked at the ECMWF computer center 6/77-4/78. This was their temporary quarters
before their permanent center was built near Reading.
The office was above a shopping mall.
Notice no computer terminal. This was just before terminals and remote computing at the
desktop became possible. At this time, the actual computer, a Cray-1 was located 40 miles
away near Oxford. To actually run programs on the Cray-1 you had to get on a bus and go there.
